The management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has told Ghanaians to be measured in the consumption of electricity during the Christmas holidays.
The state power distributor also asked debtors to defray their debts in order to avoid disconnections during the holidays.
A statement by the management said: “The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes it’s esteemed and valued customers a very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
“We wish to remind all customers that during such festivities customers tend to consume more electricity hence we urge them to conserve electricity to avoid high electricity bills.
“The ECG takes this opportunity to remind its numerous customers of its ongoing revenue mobilisation programme during the Christmas season. Customers whose bills are in arrears are advised to pay their bills immediately to avoid disconnection during the festive season.
“We wish you to encourage customers to always pay their bills on promptly to enable ECG serve them better.”
